"Is this person cheating?" is a bad question. Ask "How can we declare Fair Play?" Seek any excuse to support our assumption - all players are Fair. Only if we cannot find any evidence, we must reluctantly admit our environment and supervision has failed, then declare unfair play.
So proud of the African Schools players.... no connection problems and everyone playing fair. Building trust in the African chess community! This will be the first of many online events on the continent.
Arbiters will love these questions from players during an event:
"my opponent keeps turning his head"
"i am triying to mve the picese but i cant" (yeah, because you just called the arbiter and paused the game)
"How do I offer a draw" (when Q, B, N, PPPP down in material)
The first qualifier of the FIDE Online World Cadets & Youth Rapid Championships has finished. 146 players took part in the African continental selection. The first three winners in each category will play in the final on 19-23 Dec.
