🚨🚨 THE DOUBLE STANDARD IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE.

Chris Benoit murdered his wife and son and the world rightfully called his actions HORRIFIC. His severe brain damage was discussed, but nobody was expected to forget the victims, erase what he did, or suddenly stop condemning him.
But mention Lindsey Clancy and suddenly people scream “MENTAL ILLNESS!” as if acknowledging the victims and condemning what happened means you have no compassion.
So explain this...
Why does mental illness become an EXPLANATION for one person, but something people refuse to accept as an explanation for another?
If Chris Benoit is still responsible despite what was happening inside his brain, then why should the standard magically change here?
You cannot scream “NO EXCUSES!” for one tragedy and then demand endless sympathy and understanding for another.
Mental illness can explain behavior.
Brain damage can explain behavior.
