Toronto’s Solid Waste Management Services (SWMS) is responsible for collecting, transporting, processing, composting and disposing of municipal and some private sector solid waste.
Our office examined SWMS’ contract management systems, policies, and processes used to monitor contracted service providers and hold them accountable, and whether contract payments are properly supported.

Technology plays an important role in supporting the Toronto Public Library's (TPL) operations and services. As cyber risks continue to grow in frequency and sophistication, it’s important that the TPL’s networks, systems and applications are protected so services at Canada's largest public library system remain available for patrons and over 1 million registered cardholders.
Our cybersecurity audit included a vulnerability assessment and penetration testing of the TPL’s network, information and operational technology systems, applications, and devices. We also reviewed user access management, cybersecurity incident logging and monitoring, and testing of physical security related to cybersecurity.

Our audit of the TPS’ IT Governance assessed whether the TPS has an IT governance framework in place to guide the organization in supporting its mission and strategy. Our key audit findings and recommendations focused on how the TPS can improve its IT governance framework, enhance data governance, privacy, and information security, and strengthen other operational IT areas.
