AI is moving fast. Policy needs to catch upâwithout overreaching.
Â
At @WeAreILO, weâve spent the last 2+ years working shoulder-to-shoulder with systems leading #AI integration. Here's what weâve learned:
â Local leaders need room to lead
â Data privacy canât wait
â We need real research, not hype
Â
As I told the @edworkforcecmte, the federal role in #AI and #K12 should focus on data privacy and cybersecurity. These are roles that state and local governments lack the necessary expertise and bandwidth to perform alone and offer a focused policy lane for federal legislators.Â
Â
Proud to share these priorities with Congress. Letâs get this right.
High-stakes decisions. Strategic leadership. Real impact.
Â
Great leadership means making tough calls with convictionâeven in uncertainty. Thatâs exactly what @AnnieDuke helped break down for the @WomenLeadingEd network tonight.
Â
Too many women leaders arenât negotiatingâand when they do, gender still plays a role in the outcome. This conversation was about changing that.
Â
#WomenLeadingEd is bringing world-class experts and game-changing strategies to the women leading Americaâs schools. These are the conversations that elevate leadership, drive results, and create real change.
Â
Proud to be part of this work. Want in? https://t.co/HjwgXwhSe7
The best leaders donât just talk about changeâtheyâve lived it.
The women of @WomenLeadingEd have led classrooms, run schools, and shaped communitiesâall while balancing the demands of leadership and life.
These arenât just numbersâthey tell the story of a network of women who know exactly what it takes to lead in education and beyond. Theyâve been in the trenches, theyâve made the tough calls, and now, theyâre driving the future of leadership.
Iâm incredibly proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with this powerful, change-making network of driven, capable #WomenLeadingEd.
Our work continues, and our impact is only growing. With every leader we support, every major win we notch, and every bold step forward, weâre shaping the future of education.
đ A #WatchHerRise moment in the Lone Star State: Huge congratulations to @Dr_C_Morawski on being named the lone finalist for superintendent of @granburyisd in Texas!
Her dedication to student success, systems-level innovation, and building leadership capacity exemplifies the very best of what it means to lead with purpose and vision.Â
I am so proud to see you rise, Courtney, as you step into your next powerful moment in leading boldly. You show us whatâs possible when leaders identify a goal and pursue it with intention and focus. Â
Your journey is yet another demonstration of why @WomenLeadingEd is the most powerful national network for women in education leadershipâempowering leaders to advance and amplify their impact.

As part of #WomensHistoryMonth, itâs important to recognize that we donât always learn from the lessons history gives us to do better.
Ella Flagg Young became the first female superintendent of a major school district in 1909, but it would take another 64 years before the first Black woman held that position.
In 1973, Barbara Sizemore was named Superintendent of @DCPublicSchools, becoming the first Black woman to lead a major school system.
Dr. Sizemore was a staunch advocate for academic achievement for the students in Washington, DC. She was charged with leading DC Schools at a time when the District was still partially under congressional control. And she did not back down when it came to her beliefs and the needs of DC students.
However, her commitment was not always met with support from her superiors and colleagues. During her tenure she was labeled as difficult and stubbornâ words still used to describe too many #WomenLeadingEd when we refuse to accept the status quo.
By implementing strategies aimed at supporting and empowering women like those found in the #WomenLeadingEd Playbook, we can work towards a future where more women have the opportunity to earn and thrive in leadership positions.
