One of Freddy Krueger’s most infamous scenes—the homoerotic shower murder of Coach Schneider in A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY’S REVENGE—doesn’t actually feature Robert Englund, as New Line initially refused to hire him back after the first film.
He was instead replaced with an unnamed stand-in to save money. After producers found the stand-in’s walk to be stiff and labored rather than scary, Englund was rehired. The shower sequence had already been completed, so the stand-in remains in the finished film.
