Our team explore by train, simply for pleasure - showcasing the highs and occasional lows.
Watching the world slide past the window; join us for the journey.
The train to Thurso takes us past acres of moorland and I look out for eagles and wild boar, but no luck. The guard tells me deer are often killed by running on to the track, I check the refreshment trolley anxiously. But it's only the usual egg sandwiches, no venison baps. ^VW
The late train from Manchester is well loaded with folk. Some with shopping bags, some who have been socialising, and (judging by how often the alarm sounds) some who don't know how to work the toilet door. ^PK

Oh baby do you know what that's worth?
Oh Hebden is a place on Earth!
And yes, that person is carrying a dog; that's so Hebden Bridge! ^PK

At Wakefield Kirkgate the sound of a brass band echos along the subway, mixed with the excited gabble of people heading for the match. A chap sits down opposite, gesturing to his bottled beer he asks "dya mind?". I shake my head and take a sip of my water. ^PK

The union flag flutters gently in the breeze over Sheffield (Midland) station as people pass under the carved emblem of a wyvern, a symbol of the Midland Railway who built this station. ^PK

#AcrossTheAisle a dad and daughter are playing Uno, those around cheer when the daughter plays two +4 cards, because we know dad is cheating by looking at her cards in the reflection in the window. ^PK

The train is full and standing between Manchester and Sheffield, luckily your correspondent has a window seat and the Peak District is sliding past the window. The chap opposite has just opened a can of beer, my travelling water is in the overhead rack...
The young person sat by me has been explaining to parents #AcrossTheAisle about how how the Castlefield corridor is the most congested bit of railway in the world and that the parents could get Senior Railcards and save money on their upcoming trip to Bath. ^PK
