For today's #ThrowbackThursday, let's look back at Thunder Looper!
Opening in 1990, this Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop coaster operated until 1996, when the ride closed due to its temporary planning permission not being extended.
In Fountain Square, food and beverage pop up Cargo Global Eats has been popular with guests, also featuring some roaming characters. It will be open to enjoy until Sunday night, the final day of Twilight at the Towers.
TH13TEEN's exit shop has recently re-opened, selling a range of merchandise for both of Dark Forest's rollercoasters as well as drinks and ice lollies.
With the park being open until 8pm for Twilight at the Towers, additional decoration has been added around the park - including at the entrance and the Towers Street frogs! 🐸
Will you be visiting this week for Twilight at the Towers?
Additional theming has been added to the Congo River Rapids queue line and surrounding area, with the ride now open for the summer season.
Will you be joining Keith Quest for a ride down the rapids?
According to the Alton Towers app, Congo River Rapids and Battle Galleons are scheduled to open this Saturday, May 23rd, for the first time this season. Skyride is planned to open in May still, with no date stated.
Off-peak is a great time to visit the Alton Towers Resort for thrill seekers. Shorter queues on the resort’s biggest rollercoasters mean you can squeeze in plenty of re-rides throughout the day. 🎢
Here's a look today at the bottom of X-Sector which could soon look very different with plans submitted for a brand-new 'walk-through attraction'.
Could this building become the home of a new scare attraction, or is there something more hiding in the plans?
Before The Smiler and X-Sector, this area of Alton Towers was home to the Dinosaur Land walkthrough from 1981 to 1983!
In 1984, the models were relocated to The Flume, where they remained until 1996.
Did you ever see these prehistoric creatures?

Let's look back this #ThrowbackThursday at Enterprise!
Opening in 1984 in what's now Dark Forest, this classic Huss ride was relocated to X Sector in 1998.
Closing at the end of 2021, the area & queueline is set to be reused for an indoor attraction.
Did you ride Enterprise?
Plans have been published for the proposed “walk through attraction building” at Alton Towers. Located in X Sector, on the former sites of Submission & Enterprise, the building will have "industrial-themed finishes" - could it be used for a new Scarefest attraction?
