Just on an adventure, learning what I can along the way... Finding my voice again.

@Jodiewilde_ @gr9eg @NeuroRebel If you haven't heard the term, check out aphantasia. I am the opposite to the point of synesthesia- sometimes the visuals are so strong they override my eyes and its like watching 2 movie reels playing on the same screen. I find aphantasia (lack of visualization) very intriguing
@GlobalBC
Heads up there is a huge story unfolding in #portcoquitlam and a lot of locals are unsure what's going on. Something about a homicide hostage situation on Prairie and locals told not to leave their homes. Please look at reporting on this!!
@steve_asbell I did a chance to take my son to see the new sonic movie before theatres close here though (any day now). Tomorrow is his birthday and we will just have a chill day gaming at home with homemade cake <3 the timing has been the most difficult for me to accept
@Starfishhouse1 @Pththya_lyi @steve_asbell Insomniac here too but I end up needing burnout naps, especially if I'm overextended doing stuff that is out of the norm or out of my comfort zone
@steve_asbell @NeuroRebel I'd look into peer based groups in your area. In the cities where I live there is one non-profit organization (name escapes me right now) that has a lot of autistic employees and volunteers and is run as a more peer basis.
Autism: "Let me focus on this subject for 300 hours."
ADHD: "Let me change my focus every 15 seconds."
Autism + ADHD: "Let me tell you superficial details about 10,000 shiny things."
@IMNCanada@AaronHosford @PastelOscar @MommaElyse@theautismcafe@tclementsuk Counter stimming is a thing. Sometimes when we focus on a different stimulus it can help distract from the overwhelming one. I hand stim more when sounds are bothering me, if it's really bad i have a high pitched hum that helps me try and control what sound I'm receiving
