When you’re an awful team and have been for a while then you usually have to overpay to get talent to stay. They’re trying to be an actual team now and he at least adds some legitimacy to their lineup. No good free agents are signing with them so it’s their only shot to get talent
@0thatdude0@SixCelled As someone who lives in Boston and roots for the Celtics, nobody thought that. The tagline with Celtics was how lucky they got in their playoff run not how dominant they were or how bright future was
@itsmattlloyd10@NUCLRGOLF It’s not his responsibility to figure how how to get the money. That’s on you. As many people in the thread have already suggested, there’s a dozen ways to do it pretty easily but you put minimal effort into it. Take out the cash and send a cashiers check. Nobody believes you
@Farsh357@gregoryleclerc@breezieaze101@BobbyMarks42 They have Sorber coming back, Wallace can play Dort role and maybe they keep Caruso or find another veteran guy to fill his role but all loses they can sustain. They’re gonna keep SGA, Chet, both JWill and Ajay. Gonna be just fine
@gregoryleclerc@BobbyMarks42 Clear Hartenstein, Dort and Caruso. Already have guys ready to step into their spots plus a lotto pick coming. They’re gonna be scary for awhile
@MarkW_E01@jhatem Certainly not a lock he’s there but more likely than not he will be. And if he’s not and you end up with AJ or Peterson that’s not so bad at 3. Giving up a nice asset for that seems unlikely
@khrisody@FivelDaAmerican I don’t disagree but changes the narrative that you have Mathurin moving forward. He’s mostly likely either gone to a higher bidder or being overpaid by you. Odds of getting a young talented guy on a cheap, value-deal are slim to none
@pupgrrrl@WGrocke@SleeperMemphis He’s only been on one team because no other team would trade for him. Not getting better skill wise, not jury concerns and as big of a red flag off the court as possible.
@SpursCulture Wemby is what makes the Spurs a title contender. All the other guys are solid to very good options as well but with no Wemby they’re just another good team
@theinvestdesk@darrenrovell What the… their entire brand was built more around Steph in 2013. Their #1 dude forever. And then got Speith for their golf brand which was huge in 2014…
The Rock started in 2016
@itsAntWright Uhhhhh ya think? The hardest part are the unknowns. Almost everything in the draft is an unknown. It’s almost all projections-how their skill will translate, how they’ll handle pro ball, having money, life events.
@collinsworth55 What makes you sure they don’t see a huge gap between them? I’m a bubble maybe but they are also judging fit for their team, personality and who they want as the face of their team for a decade
