76ers have added Phil Beckner as a coaching consultant, the team confirmed. Beckner, hired in July, is expected to assist the coaching staff in several areas.
Beckner is a former Weber State assistant coach and the longtime trainer for Damian Lillard.
At pick #28 Springer is a nice get for the Sixers. He's going to be a versatile defender and his ability to defend the POA will be crucial. A successful first season for Springer will be if he can develop a more diverse finishing package and consistently improve making open 3's.
With the 28th Pick, the #Sixers drafted 6’4” G Jaden Springer out of Tennessee.
Springer's defense is his best trait. His strength allows him to guard the POA, post, and switch. He has great instincts as an off ball defender and knows when to gamble for steals and deflections.
NEW SIXERS SET OF THE WEEK ⤵️
This quick hitter for Tobias combines Simmons’s precision on passes with Harris’s excellent cutting. Since Embiid is stationed at the nail, while Seth and Danny are at the FT line extended, their defenders can't help at the rim.
🚨🚨SIXERS WIZARDS G1 BREAKDOWN🚨🚨
The Wizards, who are 1st in pace in the NBA, punished the Sixers lazy transition defense in the first half. The Sixers ramped up their effort in the second half, only letting the Wizards get out in transition 5 times, down from 11 in the 1H.

@manoffrm @CheryseP22 @DrewHanlen So, Matisse and Dame share the same agent and work with same trainer. Other clients of the trainer are lu dort and mikal bridges. So he should be in the right hands and makes sense why he’s with this guy… definitely understand what your saying tho.
@ThybulleBible With the way his offense is developing, he has a genuine chance to earn minutes nearing the starter realm. Although the shooting has not come around, his ability to attack off of closeouts has been tremendous lately. Video on playmaking growth coming soon. https://t.co/ONj9AUI7iE
MATISSE THYBULLE GROWTH AS A DRIVER: Part 1
Since April 1st, Matisse is averaging 2.44 direct drives per 36 minutes, nearly double his average prior to April (1.28 per 36). He’s also been 53% more effective, scoring 1.12 points per direct drive since April - up from 0.73.
@chrislehmann While the 3-point shooting is where many hope his offense skill set develops next, his creation off of closeouts has been proven to be one of the most encouraging parts of his offense over the past month and a half. https://t.co/ONj9AUI7iE

@ScottyDrowned@heatratiosports As you noted, he is still trying to find himself on offense, but it is worthwhile to note he has already grown tremendously over the past month and a half as a driver off of closeouts. Breakdown of his playmaking growth to come soon. https://t.co/ONj9AUI7iE

@RBPhillyTake The flashes you were referring to are becoming more consistent and more impressive with every game. Assembled a mini-breakdown of his growth as a finisher - breakdown of his playmaking improvements to come. https://t.co/ONj9AUI7iE

@NinjaBands Tisse is still very young and growing on offense more than is being publicly acknowledged. While everyone knows his defensive ceiling is limitless, his growth driving the ball over the past month and a half is staggering. Playmaking video to come soon. https://t.co/ONj9AUI7iE

@TomWestNBA As you noted, he is a limited offensive player. But as a young player, it is critical to highlight and celebrate how he has improved. Since you have tweeted this, Thybulle has improved tremendously as a finisher in both volume and efficiency. https://t.co/ONj9AUI7iE

@jackfrank_jjf Similar to Ben, he's consistently mocked for his shooting woes instead of being celebrated for his offensive growth. Since April, he's made tremendous strides as a driver (volume+efficiency). Assembled mini finishing breakdown; playmaking progress to come. https://t.co/ONj9AUI7iE
