Liberal Democrat. Political junkie. Daughter of a Union representative. If they have a (D) behind their name, they're much more likely to represent ME.🇺🇸🇺🇦
This is my sister. She is a nurse who is administering the Covid vaccine. Her job includes notifying employees if they are Covid positive. I talked with her today. She sounded more joyful, more optimist than she has in the last 10 months. She is my hero!
This is our way back.
Braden, congratulations on completing The 50 Yard Challenge! This is an accomplishment you should be incredibly proud of. Many kids accept the challenge, but only a few have the dedication and determination to see it all the way through. Completing 50 free lawns says so much about your heart, your work ethic, and your character. You made a commitment, stayed focused, and finished what you started. Carry that same determination with you as you grow older, because it will take you far in life.
I saw that you signed up in May and completed the entire challenge in less than two months. Every year, a few kids stand out because they hit the ground running, and you are definitely one of them. Braden, I truly believe you are going to accomplish great things and continue making a difference wherever life takes you. Always remember: “Your character is not shown by what you start, but by what you have the courage and determination to finish.”
Remembering civil rights activist Medgar Evers, who was assassinated in the driveway of his Mississippi home while his wife and children were inside. He was fatally shot on June 12, 1963, by white supremacist Byron De La Beckwith, who had ties to the White Citizens’ Council and the Ku Klux Klan. Just hours earlier, President John F. Kennedy had delivered a national address supporting civil rights. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. attended his funeral. Mr. Evers was only 37 years old. It’s remarkable to think how much he accomplished in such a short life. Never forget his courage. 🕊️
He was burning alive, yet he kept re-entering the burning Bradley Fighting Vehicle until all six soldiers and the Iraqi interpreter were safe. Burns covered 72% of his body. His first words were, ‘How are my boys?’ He died three weeks later. It took 16 years for him to receive the Medal of Honor. HIS NAME IS SERGEANT FIRST CLASS ALWYN C. CASHE, NEVER FORGET!!!
When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain.
A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.”
That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love.
I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.
Hello, Montana ! It’s so great to be back in your beautiful state. I’m only passing through this time as I head to Idaho, and Iowa to visit kids who have completed The 50 Yard Challenge and present them with brand-new lawn mowers, weed eaters, and blowers. Hopefully, we’ll have kids from your great state completing the challenge soon, too! I hope to return and spend more time here in the near future. Until then, Montana , I’ll see you next time!
BREAKING: New polling in South Carolina has Republicans terrified of another Democratic flip opportunity where Dr. Annie Andrews is only 3 points behind Lindsey Graham. This is amazing.
I spoke with Mitch McConnell today for about 20 min. He apologized for not convicting Trump for January 6th and said that Lindsey Graham is a sissy who is too scared to bring Russian sanctions forward despite promising it for a year.
It was a pleasant conversation
Lindsey Graham and I had a complicated relationship.
Before Trump, we were friends. We traveled together on congressional trips around the world, including visiting Syrian refugee camps where we met children whose lives had been shattered by war. Those moments reminded us why public service mattered.
After Trump, we went in very different directions, and we eventually stopped speaking. I never hid those disagreements, and I won’t rewrite that history today.
But death has a way of putting things in perspective. I choose to remember the man I knew before our paths diverged—the one who cared deeply about America’s role in the world and wasn’t afraid to see suffering up close.
Rest in peace, Lindsey. My prayers are with his family and all who loved him.
🚨ENDORSEMENT ALERT🚨 We’re proud to endorse #UnrigWashington member @AnnieAndrewsMD in her race to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate. As a pediatrician, Dr. Annie Andrews has spent her career serving South Carolina families. We’re excited to help her win this November.
I hope that South Carolinians will join me in setting partisanship aside and offering gratitude to Senator Lindsey Graham for his service to the great state of South Carolina.
Hey South Carolina. With Lindsey Graham now out of the running, this could be your next Senator.
RIP Lindsey Graham.
Let’s move onto a younger, smarter, less Trump cultist candidate like @AnnieAndrewsMD
This is Lindsey Graham in 2015 telling a reporter that Joe Biden is the nicest man he’s ever met in politics and how your life flashes before your eyes and can be gone in a minute. Too bad he didn’t stand up for the people instead of selling his soul.
“Lindsey Graham was a lonely and unprincipled man who betrayed his country for power and his decency for attention. Let it be known for all time that he knew exactly what Donald Trump was from the very beginning, and chose him over his country.”
