Although I loathed hair days, in hindsight I can now see how my mother’s care for me to be presentable and pretty for church or picture day or even in routine self care maintenance, she passed on the tradition of hair care to me.

A relationship with a hair dresser/beautician is important. My hair dresser travelled from NC to both my undergrad graduation in DC and my grad school graduation in Atlanta. #TheHairTales
