@LizHighleyman There's a very large contingent of medical doctors who spend so much energy tweeting only about marginal questions, almost none on explaining the benefits of vaccines, while also saying they're against restrictions despite the obvious fact vaccines would greatly help. So bizarre.
It's peculiar that top-quoted economists crowing about leaning loss don't want to do more to curb #COVID transmission. Sure, advocating for minimizing disease is a risk, people may call you a "zero-COVID-zealot", but curbing transmission keeps classrooms filled.
@nilikm https://t.co/VJqD5YrRwS "Just 6 days into the new school year and already some students in an Oklahoma school district are moving to virtual learning.
Perkins-Tryon Intermediate School is making the move because 30 staff members are out with covid district wide."
Will @MikeIsaac write about the contradiction of the Zuckerberg and Chan foundation goal to eliminate "all diseases" while platforming RFK 's antivax nonprofit for the first 2.5 years of COVID? https://t.co/TBHgPzRnhK
"People don't care about COVID" is a cop-out and a myth. The truth is: people don't want #COVID brain damage, even if it's short-term. And they're quietly managing their lives to avoid it, avoiding indoor dining https://t.co/iyzUUEBZN1 and sadly outdoor baseball.
Last year, a group of dedicated documentary archivists contacted me about the destruction of all their work, due to #AI “creation” of false images and videos “proving” some past event that never even occurred. (Via @chazharris)
@ednewtonrex "Blurred Lines" was the Robin Thicke song that copied the feel of Marvin Gaye's song so closely, creators Thicke & Williams lost a copyright case in court. https://t.co/hAK8Uh8UdW
Spoke to someone from @moderna_tx this week at a conference.
Weirdly, SARS2 vaccines came up!
I was told that 3 separate new large-scale syntheses were prepped last Yr, with only one (XBB) eventually used. These are $bn processes.
Hence, vax sales need to recoup this outlay...
@hulu_support That's a lot of work! For some reason, on @Roku, the Netflix show teasers appear. I don't have to get the laptop out to see their library. (See my "Media Literacy with 'Alfred' and 'Earn'" newsletter with GIFs from @AtlantaFX show, now streaming on @Hulu) https://t.co/5mbYFHLpXO
I put TV show screenshots in my newsletter but subscribe to only 1 streaming service. Are @Hulu execs aware potential customers can't see what's currently playing & have little incentive to subscribe? Whereas _prospective_ @Netflix customers are beckoned with show teasers?
@ShaiDavidai During the Iraq war protests in 2003, anarchists who covered their faces with plain black scarves would infiltrate the mass crowds then start vandalizing stores, smearing the whole peace-protest crowd. I've wondered if that's happening here with the face coverings
@MLS_Dave Pan can is the worst. Took my non-smoking non-drinking vegetable-eating cousin, our grandmother's first grandchild, at 60. She led bike rides til the last month of her life.
