🔔 Cancelled event: Fort George Work Party, 23 November 2024
Wondering why? This is how Tracy, our East Coast officer who organised the work party, spent her lunch break yesterday... Not ideal conditions for some hands-on habitat management work!❄️

Great to hear from @savebutterflies Youth Panel yesterday. Plenty of great ideas for involving those under 25 in conservation. Very inspirational listening to them - cracking wee video too! 🦋
Finally the sun is a shining, the bees are a buzzing, the butterflies are fluttering by and I’m stuck in the office! 🥲🦋 Might go have to book a day off and explore the east coast☀️😁 #bees#Butterflies#sun@BC_Scotland
Good morning from the Highlands….just hanging around waiting for the sun to hear me up before I buzz off and do some work 🐝☀️ #bee#Bumblebee#Autumnvibes
Best trap of the year so far in the garden, 240indvs of 60sp - rather a lot of micros may have accidentally escaped 😜 First time having 3 different species of Footman #moths#mothing#pollinators@savebutterflies
Let's jump into Monday with a fun-filled round up of a week in the life of Tracy, one of our East Coast Project Officers!
Have a great week everyone 💙🦋

Dive into the magnificent world of moths!
📅 Sunday 21st July, 10:30am
📍 National Trust for Scotland, Culloden Battlefield
We'll be taking a look at what moths we caught in a moth trap over the previous night, before releasing the moths back unharmed into their environment. https://t.co/YEozikYxHg
Who doesn’t love a moth?! Lovely species in this mornings trap, some new for the year. What a pleasure to finally have some variety though overall numbers remand low. Fingers crossed for some heat as I need to go hunt for Northern Brown Argus butterflies 🦋 #MothsMatter#moths
Perfect camping spot after a hard physical day on the East Coast cliffs surveying for @SpeciesEdge had to really battle my way through bracken that was considerably taller than me! First Grayling of the year was a delight 🦋 Lovely sunrise this morning @savebutterflies
Woop woop finally managed to see GYB in 40mph winds - typical Scottish summer! Tips from @BumblebeeTrust and @tartanteuchter on where to find them on Benbecula came up trumps. Also great to see all the hard work being done by @SpeciesEdge in some remote sites. Perfect birthday 🎈
