I share some opinions about abortion research and policy at https://t.co/X6vm7GU1F3 via @YouTube (I start around min 22 but the whole thing is worth a listen).
@nwlc I know it is strategic to talk about the women who will “die” without expanded abortion rights. However the vast majority of people harmed will have their lives, dreams, and families derailed. We don’t have to make public health arguments to argue for our reproductive autonomy.
My favorite academic thing is when a book—researched years before—becomes incredibly relevant. Check out Cromer’s Conceiving Christian American. https://t.co/chRbXYl7Po
Yesterday Prez Biden said he isn't for "abortion on demand." So what?--he wants us to beg, ask his permission, get an approval note from a doctor? Absolutely not. Years of research shows people know when they need an abortion--and then they SHOULD demand one. #abortionondemand
Here's what happens when you have to ask a doctor for an abortion but can't demand it. They decide whether you provided the right kind of gender performance. Check out an article we wrote years ago on the stratified legitimacy of abortion. https://t.co/rWKIV0nMcL
Blue states need to take a cold hard look at how THEY still fail their residents in providing abortion access. It is a complete embarrasment.
California Universities Are Required To Offer Students Abortion Pills. A Lot Just Don't Mention It https://t.co/XRvQUhfejo
Then, the demand was simple: abolish all abortion laws. While the Roe decision legalized abortion, it gave the power to the state and to doctors, not those of us who need abortions. It solidified the government's interest in pregnancy and abortion decisions. We gave up power.
