Soybean export sales fell to a marketing-year low last week, as the sales season winds down. Total commitments for the 2025/26 marketing year remain 19% behind last year’s pace.
This week’s U.S. Drought Monitor shows slight improvement in the South and High Plains from the previous week, while modest degradation hit the Southwest.

U.S. oilseed processors crushed 213.1 million bushels of soybeans in May, down 2% from the previous month and 4.6% higher than last year. Year-to-date soybean processing for the 2025/26 marketing year hit 1.99 billion bushels, up 8% from last year.
US ethanol production saw a boost of 2.5% last week, to an average of 1.117 mil barrels a day. Ethanol inventories increased 0.4% to 24.67 mil barrels.

June 1 corn stockpiles came in below the average survey guess. Soybean stocks were above expectations, while wheat was slightly below the trade average.
Corn crops are sitting at 67% good-to-excellent condition, with the greatest positive change YOY to states along the U.S./Canada border. Soybeans are at 65% GTE, spring wheat 59% GTE, Cotton 48% GTE.
U.S. soybean export sales increased last week for both the 2025/26 and 2026/27 marketing years. Outstanding sales for the new crop season are now at a 3 year high.
This week’s U.S. Drought Monitor shows improvement throughout the Plains, across the South, and into the Southeast. Areas of slight degradation hit the upper Pacific Northwest. 52.33% of the country is in some level of drought, improving almost 3% from the week prior.
US ethanol production fell 1.1% last week to an average of 1.09 mil barrels a day, though output remained at a seasonal record. Ethanol inventories rose 0.5% to 24.59 mil barrels.
Inventories have struggled to fall below year-ago levels due to an early peak in gasoline demand.

The USDA confirmed the flash sale of 100,000 MT of corn sold to Mexico. Of the total, 30,000 MT were for the 2025/26 marketing year, and 70,000 were for 2026/27.
The latest Crop Progress data rates 68% of this year's corn crop in good-to-excellent condition. Nationwide, soybeans are at 66% good-to-excellent, spring wheat is at 54%, and cotton is at 53%.
