π¨ One of the most awaited features for investors and swing traders is finally here on Zerodha β Trailing Stop Loss (TSL) for GTT orders.
For those who don't know:
πΉ GTT (Good Till Triggered) allows you to place orders that remain active until your target or stop loss is hit, without monitoring the market daily.
πΉ Trailing Stop Loss automatically moves your stop loss in your favour as the stock price moves up, while never moving it lower.
Example:
Bought at βΉ100
Initial SL at βΉ90
Trailing = βΉ1
β‘οΈ Stock at βΉ110 β SL becomes βΉ100
β‘οΈ Stock at βΉ120 β SL becomes βΉ110
β‘οΈ Stock at βΉ130 β SL becomes βΉ120
If the stock falls from there, your SL stays at βΉ120, helping protect your profits.
This can be a game changer for swing and positional traders, as it helps:
β Lock in profits automatically
β Reduce emotional decision-making
β Let winners run while protecting capital
Once this feature is available across all platforms, I believe many investors and swing traders will start incorporating it into their risk management framework. π
