I'm starting this account to do one thing, every session.
Before the open I'll post the king, the strike carrying the most exposure, and where price is sitting against it. I’ll track it if it moves. After the close I'll show where price went relative to that level. That's the whole account.
I read the king off SPY and QQQ, and I trade it in ES and NQ. The level lives in the index, the trade lives in the futures.
I won't post a P&L. No screenshots, no "good week." You couldn't check any of it, and I'd rather not ask you to take my word for anything.
What you can check is a level I gave you before the session started. So that's what I'll give you.
My day job is managing people and solving problems under high stakes, where guessing isn't an option. It taught me to read what's in front of me and follow the process instead of my nerves. I show up here the same way.
My brother built the tool I use to trade, and I coach in his community when I'm needed. I'll say so every time it comes up.
@RedDogT3 762 was the line all day. SPY's heaviest strike sat right there, and the reclaim lined up with the exposure flipping from below the level to above it. Price put in a higher low into it before it went. Clean spot to lean on!
$TSLA recap from this morning.
Opened $3.54 under the 360 King. First thing it did was come back down into yesterday's high around 355... dipped under it twice and got back over it both times. Old resistance, new support.
From there it just walked. 63 minutes from the low to 359.78, and that's presented to the King.
What lined up: 360 was the King from the open and never moved, and it actually grew about 12% on the way. Regime was amplify from the open too.
It's one morning, so take it as an example. But this is what we mean by trading toward the area with the largest exposure (the king).
Close, Oct 1.
Great day of execution! QQQ's 740 king was the anchor all day. Price tested it twice from below and it never gave up the crown.
First test on the morning flush, price dipped to 737-738 and held. Second test came in as a higher low, no new low, and selling volume faded into it.
The tell both times was where the size sat. On the second test the exposure flipped from building below the king to stacking above it in real time. Weight moving to the other side while price holds the level. That is the read I wait for.
Traded NQ long into both, toward the king each time. After the second, the king rotated up to 745 and SPY lined up at 768.
Two setups, one read. Review the level, not the trade. The 740 king told the whole story today.
Happy October! Pre-open board for today.
SPY: king at 768, price under it and working up from below. First touch of 768 is the read, reclaim and hold above it or stall underneath.
QQQ: king at 740, price already separating above with size stacked overhead into 750, which appears to have hit overnight. Holds above 740 and that overhead is where the room sits.
The split worth watching: SPY is still under its king, QQQ is already over its. Two different starting points into the open.
Exposure can reset right at the cash open, so this is the baseline, not the trade. Confirm coming once the open settles.
Live, Oct 1. Round two!
Price came back for a second test after the morning flush and put in a higher low on both SPY and QQQ. No new low, and selling volume faded through the last hour. SPY retesting 762 from underneath, QQQ retesting 740.
The tell was the exposure flipping on our Compass board. Earlier it built below the kings. On this second test it started stacking above in real time, weight moving to the other side of the level while price held. That is the shift I wait for, and the key is seeing this in real time!
Took NQ long into it. Kings rotated back up right after, QQQ to 745 and SPY to 768. Already all out.
Two trades today, both toward the king, both read the same way. It does not get easier. You just get more reps.
@varuntakkar01 With you on trimming into strength, did the same on two NQ longs today. On the trap: what confirmed it for me was the exposure flipping from building below the level to stacking above as QQQ put in the higher low. Structure turned before price did.
@1769_alex Right on. And perfect example this morning. The flush shook out everyone short into it. The ones who held saw price was dropping into a level, not away from one. That is the whole difference. Survive the shakeout by knowing where the size/exposure actually sits!
Recap of this morning's board and trade: QQQ holding 740, SPY's heaviest strike up at 768, exposure stacking overhead with nothing below.
That structure held all morning (until the last hour lol). Took the flip at 766 (pictured), watched the king rotate up to 768, and scaled most off by 769.5, which was Monday's high.
Wanted the runner to reach 770 but we never cleared Monday's high, so the last piece came off at breakeven. The level did the work. I just followed it.
Have a great evening

$SPY
King 766, the biggest size on the whole board. Price sitting right on it at 767. This is the level today.
$QQQ
King 736, the heaviest strike out there and it's not close.
Price 741, about 5 above.
What I'm watching: QQQ holding 740 into the open. Stays above and buyers own it up here. Loses it and 736 is the heavy shelf underneath, that's where the size actually sits.
We just digested PCE, so the open can move fast today. Kings reset at the bell more than usual on data days. I'll post where each one settles once we're live.
Not advice, just my read. Let's have fun
Open's in, and the read played out. I said watch QQQ hold 740. It held and stayed above YDH and never looked back.
$SPY's king rotated up from 766 to 768 right after the bell, so I took ES long on the dip back to the open with 768 as my anchor. When the biggest size on the board moves up, that's the tape showing you the side.
$QQQ is backing it the whole way. Exposure stacking above its king now, 740 through 750, almost nothing underneath. Size building overhead and empty below, that's buyers leaning in.
Long ES off 768. This is the board doing exactly what I watch it for.
@Steven_2376 Same zone I'm watching. 745 is where the heaviest QQQ size is sitting and 736 is the shelf underneath, nothing building below it. Stays above 736, the up-lean stays intact.
@georgepapazov Traded ES long from the same side today. Makes sense those runs kept stalling up top, that's where the size is stacked and buyers had to work through it. I came off once the heaviest strike quit climbing. Was a good day to be leaning long.
@Barkworth17 Hello! Yep breakout held up. QQQ's got exposure stacking above the heaviest strike with basically nothing underneath, which is the structure you want behind a trend day. Buyers didn't have to fight anything overhead.
@itsmichaelluu Hi there! Yes Goldilocks print, and the positioning agrees. SPY's heaviest strike rotated up off the open, and QQQ has size stacking overhead with almost nothing below. Biggest levels moving up, buyers piled in above, the board's confirming the bull case.
People have asked me what I mean by the king, so here it is in plain english because it is the one number we know every morning before the bell, and most traders are flying blind to it.
The king is the single strike holding the most exposure on the board. The biggest size on the list, not volume, not open interest. Where the real money is actually parked.
That's my anchor for the entire session. Price runs around, I watch what it does at the king, and that read is most of how I trade. It works because it's real. It's where size sits and I can track it in real-time if it changes, so it’s not a just a line I drew on a chart and hoped.
My brother built the software that surfaces it. I read the king off it every day and post it here before the open, free. Watch it for a week and you'll start seeing the tape the way I do.
The king. Once you see it you can't unsee it.
