@tomsherwood I’m confused why they shouldn’t be allowed to sometimes deliberate sensitive policy issues in private before publicly announcing their positions? Certainly federal officials do.
@KarlaMLewis5E02@joe5f6@bigbearcafe I like Big Bear AND I don’t think people should pile on the ANC commish in this way.
Folks in SMDs disagree all the time in neighborhood meetings. That’s the right forum for this issue. Otherwise, we’re just bullying a community volunteer for having an opinion.
@IsaacDovere I think you just irrationally hate her.
Don’t like her meeting other mayors. Don’t like her distributing salt in a snow storm.
What IS she allowed to do, in your eyes?
The nation's #InternationalTrade deficit in goods and services increased to $56.8 billion in November from $29.2 billion in October (revised), as exports decreased and imports increased.

Trade policy as middle school cafeteria politics: You can shake kids for quarters… until they decide you don’t get a seat at their table. Then the “tough guy” is just eating alone with mystery meat.
@benduchek@adamconner I worry ppl have lost the ability to differentiate between their social media feed & real life.
Does NYC have “better” social media? Maybe, depends. Does that mean DC isn’t doing as well or better, under historically difficult circumstances, at keeping its citizens safe? No!
@adamconner@AshleySchapitl@kenyanmcduffie@Janeese4DC There are 8 dead in NYC from cold.
Hundreds of thousands of people in other states without power.
Death tolls are rising in several states.
This is a historically unusual storm.
@benduchek Yes! No gratitude for local folks risking their lives out there round the clock.
And no perspective. We have power. We have robust emergency shelter services, and backup shelter plans.
It takes a while to break up inches of ice in a cold spell rivaling any since 1899.
@benduchek DC can’t fix everything all at once, but it’s not as if we are the worst jurisdiction in America and everyone else just has this storm under control.
This is a historically bad storm!
@benduchek Thanks. I don’t usually tweet about local stuff, but this is crazy!
Hundreds of thousands without power, mounting death tolls in other states. 8 dead in NYC. Hell, Arlington’s director of school safety drunkenly crashed into a snow bank in a work vehicle on Sunday.
