$1 million spent training three kids to wait for permission.

Michigan, WashU, Stanford. These aren't bad schools. These are schools that teach you to optimize for the next gatekeeper. Get the GPA for the internship. Get the internship for the offer. Get the offer for the title. Every step requires someone else to say yes.

The oldest was a PM in NYC. Knows how to ship product, run sprints, talk to engineers. Has been sitting at home for two years. The youngest has a CS degree from Stanford. Can build software. Has been sitting at home waiting for an offer letter.

We are living through the largest opportunity explosion in a generation. Every local business needs AI implementation. Every company with a manual process is bleeding money. A Stanford CS grad could mass-cold-email 200 small businesses this week offering to automate one workflow for $5K each. Close 4 and that's $20K in a month.

The middle kid has a business degree and has been unemployed for three years. Three years is enough time to build a course, a consultancy, a newsletter, a SaaS product, or all four.

$1 million bought world-class credentials. It bought zero agency. The credential was supposed to be the shortcut. Now it's the thing keeping them stuck, because they were trained to believe the credential is the step before action. Remove that belief and a CS degree from Stanford becomes one of the most dangerous weapons on earth.

The job market is brutal right now. That part is real. But brutal for people waiting in line. Not for people building.
