In our next Valentine's-themed S+T meeting we'll be discussing love and languages. This incldues ways of expressing love in different cultures, language socialisation and code-switching, art and the visual culture of love, musical expression of love, and any other ideas!
In our next S&T meeting we'll be discussing material cultures. This is the physical aspect of culture in the objects and architecture that surround people. It includes usage, consumption, creation, and trade of objects as well as the behaviors, norms, and rituals they create.
Our first Show & Tell meeting is tomorrow, 11am-2pm @ G.01 1-5 Whiteladies Road, BS8 1NU, exploring language and identity. All are welcome to come along! It's a Christmas-themed meeting so festive baked goods will be provided...

The proposed theme for our next Show & Tell is 'Hybrid Cultures and the Colonial Gaze'. Contributions so far include pieces on Spanish-Chinese identity, the hybrid gaze as manifested in guide-books, and transnational artwork. Doodle poll will be out shortly for potential dates!
