Karachi is seeing new green spaces through community-centered plantation initiatives!🌳Led by WWF-Pakistan in partnership with Pakistan Beverage Limited, @ThisIsReckitt, and @GSK, these efforts focus on improving local environments by restoring underutilized areas and promoting sustainable practices.
- Urban Forest at Shaudah-e-Karbala (PBL): Ablution water is being reused to irrigate the urban forest, supporting water conservation while helping maintain a green public space for visitors.
- Roadside Plantation near a Hospital (Reckitt – Phase II): Plantation along a previously dusty roadside is helping improve the surrounding environment and creating a more comfortable space for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Plantation on Barren Land, Landhi (GSK): A degraded plot of land has been restored through plantation, contributing to improved green cover and providing habitat for local biodiversity.
- School Plantation and Landscaping, Sharafi Got, Landhi (GSK): Plantation and landscaping activities have created a greener school environment, encouraging students to engage with nature and environmental stewardship.
Through plantation, water reuse, and community participation, these site-based interventions aim to support healthier urban spaces while contributing to broader, long-term efforts for environmental sustainability in Karachi.

The video was captured along the coast of Balochistan just after sunrise.
