⏰ Beyoncé is being studied alongside Queen Elizabeth I at The Open University in UK 🇬🇧
As part of its undergraduate A112: Cultures module, the university’s “Art and Power” block examines portraits of Beyoncé and Elizabeth I to explore how art has been used to construct, communicate and challenge power across different periods.
Students look at how portraiture can project individual and political power, placing a contemporary cultural figure like Beyoncé in conversation with one of the most recognisable monarchs in British history.

SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦 : The University of Pretoria’s School of the Arts dedicated a 2026 academic seminar to a fascinating question: “What does Beyoncé’s music teach us about popular music genres?”
Using Beyoncé’s genre-blending across projects including Lemonade, Black Is King, Renaissance and Cowboy Carter, the seminar explored how the boundaries we place around music can also reflect much bigger social divisions around race, gender, class, sexuality and nationality.
It also examined Beyoncé’s relationship with African audiences and argued that her movement across genres can challenge the social boundaries historically attached to different styles of music.

Growing up, a hit song crossed demographics whether the genre was your favorite or not. People who don’t primarily listen to country still know Dolly, Shania, Carrie, The Chicks, etc. because they made actual hit records that crossed over. If a song can spend 23 weeks at #1, breaking records that stood for 20+ years, while a huge portion of the public is sincerely saying they’ve never heard it, maybe the conversation isn’t “people hate country.” Maybe @RollingStone should be writing about how streaming-era chart dominance no longer equals cultural dominance because there’s some trickery at play. That’s the real story being avoided. Don’t gaslight us.
@SAPoliceService this is an attempted murderer Shimani Matlatsi from 518021 Zone 3 Sebokeng. On Friday evening he stabbed our little sister multiple times on the head and cut her throat, he then left her wrapped with a blanket on her bed, he thought she was dead and left her there alone and helpless. She fortunately managed to crawl outside and one the neighbours saw her and immediately called for help, she is currently fighting for her life in hospital. This coward is alleged to be a nurse at one of the hospitals in Sebokeng. The patients at the hospital he works at are also in danger ⛔️ if he takes out his anger by attempting to kill humans.
Please urgently assist with locating him and lock him up. Please assist with sharing this post until our sisters get justice.
With the current killings of women in this country, he wants our sister to be one of the unalived.
