We call for the safety, dignity, and equal access to healthcare, justice, and opportunities for trans persons in Uganda.
On this #WorldTBDay, we call for inclusive, stigma-free TB services for all. Ending TB requires a deliberate commitment to reach every person and community while ensuring healthcare systems respect, affirm, and include trans lives.

Honored to host the CCM team under Global Fund at our Clinic for a joint site visit. We highlighted our peer‑led model, stigma‑free services, & community‑driven referrals for trans people & other KPs, & discussed sustainability, commodity security, & HIV/TB/Malaria integration.
We spent some time with our member organisation, Tranz Network Uganda, while in Kampala, which offered a sobering look into what organising under pressure really means.
For over a decade, this community-led initiative has created access to care while navigating increasing scrutiny from state authorities, heavy taxation, and shrinking funding.
Our conversation centred on sustainability, safety, and the importance of remaining visible within regional spaces despite hostile environments.

We mourn the passing of Joan Amek, Executive Director of Rella Women’s Foundation. A fearless queer feminist, mentor, and movement builder, Joan was a visionary leader whose work was rooted in courage, empathy, and justice. She transformed countless lives. Rest in power Joan Amek

discrimination, & systemic injustice. We mourn. We remember. And we refuse to be silent. To every trans and gender-diverse person: Your life matters. Your joy matters. Your future matters. The awareness Week ends, but our commitment to safety, dignity, and equality doesn't.
As the Trans Awareness Week comes to a close, our work continues. We continue to reflect, learn, & stand in solidarity with trans communities across Uganda & beyond.
Today, on Trans Day of Remembrance (November 20), we pause to honour the trans lives taken by violence,
