I thought La Palma would peak in July or August.
It doesn’t.
September is its #1 climate month on my site: 93/100, 24°C sea, ~2 rainy days.
The Atlantic keeps warming after midsummer.

Same island, almost the same daytime temperature — very different trip.
Crete in May: 24°C · sea 19°C · 2 rainy days · ~9h sun
Crete in October: 25°C · sea 23°C · 6 rainy days · ~5h sun
This is why I built https://t.co/VbdBGHEvSX. “Warm” isn’t one thing.
One winter-sun combination surprised me while building this:
Hurghada in December ☀️
25°C air
25°C sea
~1 rainy day
That’s almost exactly what I want from a December beach trip.

@qz The useful distinction is “best value month” vs “best weather month.” Shifting by a month can be great for prices and crowds, but for coastal trips sea temperature often lags the air, and rainy-season transitions can change the picture quickly.
November beach weather without tropical heat:
Aqaba 🇯🇴
☀️ 23°C days
🌊 25°C sea
🌧️ ~1 rainy day
Exactly the kind of combination I built https://t.co/VbdBGHEvSX to find. I probably wouldn’t have thought of it otherwise.
If I had a free week in September and no destination picked yet, I’d start here:
🇹🇷 Cappadocia 25°C
🇦🇺 Cairns 25°C + 25°C sea
🇪🇸 Tenerife 26°C + 24°C sea
They’re the top 3 on my September climate ranking.

@CNBCTV18News One thing I’d add before booking for the lower September prices is the weather. Sri Lanka stays very warm and the sea is warm too, but rain becomes a much bigger part of the equation and the monsoon pattern matters by region. I built https://t.co/VbdBGHEvSX for this.
@CorfuArts September has a really nice advantage that gets overlooked: the air starts cooling before the sea does. So you can lose some of the peak summer heat while still keeping very good swimming conditions. That’s a pretty hard combination to beat.
Because “best time to visit” is different for everyone.
Some want 30°C beach weather.
Others want 22°C for sightseeing.
Instead of searching destination by destination, I built a tool that lets you start with the climate you want 🌍
#travel#traveladvice#traveltips
Start with the trip you actually want:
☀️ 25–30°C
🌧️ Low rain
🌊 Warm sea
📅 September
Then find the destinations that match those conditions.
That’s the idea behind https://t.co/VbdBGHEvSX
@qz Shoulder season is great, but I think there’s one catch. “September” alone doesn’t tell you much about the weather. 25°C and dry in one destination can mean heavy rain somewhere else. That exact problem is why I built https://t.co/VbdBGHEvSX to find the perfect travel climate.
@lonelyplanet September might be one of the most underrated travel months. You often keep a lot of the summer weather while losing some of the heat and crowds. The interesting part is how differently that plays out depending on the destination.
@qz The month can change the experience almost as much as the destination itself. A place that’s perfect for a beach honeymoon in one month can be hot or surprisingly cool in another. I’d always choose destination + month together rather than treating them as two separate decisions.
Most travel planning starts with:
“Where should I go?”
I think it should start with:
“What weather do I want?” ☀️
Choose your month, temperature, rain tolerance and whether a warm sea matters.

#travel#TravelTips
Picking a destination is easy. Picking the right month is where it gets tricky 😅
That is exactly why I built https://t.co/VbdBGHEvSX
Compare destinations by month and see when the weather actually fits the trip you want. Free to use with over 300 destinations currently.
@vibe_adventures Off season travel is such a good tip. I always check how much the weather changes from month to month before booking. That is actually why I built https://t.co/VbdBGHEvSX
@thandojo Fall in Japan is really a sweet spot. Sunny weather without the peak summer heat is exactly the kind of seasonal tradeoff I wanted to make easier to compare on https://t.co/VbdBGHEvSX
