I advocate don't pay the ransom for 3 reasons:

Practical: you'd be doing a deal w/ a criminal, trusting them to leave/give back access.

Technical: you'd be buying a decryption tool that's not guaranteed to work.

Ethical: you'd be an active investor in a criminal enterprise.
