@irishpeloton Once GCN lost all the cycling, I’ve stopped watching. Even really stopped cycling, and I don’t race CX anymore. I’m not blaming GCN, but I’m not paying all that to WBD…
This is the image of Alan Morfett threatening a member of the public with a large knife. He was swiftly arrested by EA officers. Today, despite all their hard work- he walked out of court with a suspended sentence.
Today they must be asking themselves why they even bothered? 1/2
The Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry has published its final report.
The Met's criminal investigation remains ongoing. We'll be thorough and diligent while moving as swiftly as possible.
We owe that to those who died and all those affected by the tragedy.

The Grenfell report is even more damning than you might expect. If it doesn't lead to corporate manslaughter charges, then you have to wonder if that law is fit for purpose at all.

@ChaponaBike123@dailytelegraph@dailytelegraph why don’t you report real crime. Like this https://t.co/i0RTESYv3g or doesn’t near 800 people seriously injured or kill by Hit and Run in London alone, is not enough ?
28,031 people were seriously injured in road crashes in 2022. That is about 77 people each day - all needing expert emergency @PoliceChiefs, @NFCC_FireChiefs@NHSEngland@AACE_org interventions and ongoing #NHS care.
Rarely do we read about the consequences of these crashes on individuals in our media, but we know from data that serious neck, back, chest, limb, and head injuries are most common. These often cause life limiting and life long changes.
This is brave from Freddie Flintoff @DailyMirror and shows us the devastation caused to thousands of people following largely avoidable road crashes.
He says that he “genuinely should not be here after what happened” and “I need to stop crying every two minutes.” Along the road to recovery there are significant physical and psychological challenges.
Thank you to Freddie for adding a voice to literally tens of thousands of people who often do not have one. Road crashes are largely avoidable and so are deaths and serious injuries. They are rarely “accidental” as reported by much of the media.
@Keir_Starmer @LouHaigh @LilianGreenwood promise a much overdue Strategy to stop road crime and road death / serious injury. The last Strategy was in 2000 and I look forward to the new one - decades late, but welcome nevertheless.

@gazza_d it's all these new fan dangle automatic thingies... Cars and bikes are now driverless/riderless.. just going about doing their thing. Colliding with each other.
@ChaponaBike123@chausseedeforme It’s not the obstruction, it’s crossing the solid white line when the light is red. Hardest part is to prove the light was red and they have time to stop. On the left of these boxes is a dotted line from the cycle lane permitting the cyclist to enter.
16 dead across 6 incidents that claimed the lives of kids & left others seriously injured - just a tiny part of the orgy of death on the UK's roads over the weekend.
It's time @UKLabour took road violence seriously.

@CitizenUddin @IanMSpencer @metpoliceuk In MET land I always thought it was a local council issue unless it was dangerous parking. (That’s what it is in some places)
@FietserGlasgow I remember a road in Brentwood, allowed cars through (no parking) they stopped the traffic. Shop owners complained that less people went. So they opened it back up (still not allowed to park) road open or closed, all cars used the car park.
@ediz1975@DesertfoxXx98 @MarkBoy41386619 It’s like comparing a Tesla and a petrol driven vehicle. The delivery driver is on an illegal battery powered motorbike. The other is petrol driven motorbike. Both have pedals but their mode of power is different. Neither need pedal assist to keep moving. Both are motorbikes.
