ROYAL NAVY VETERAN JAILED FOR GROOMING AND RAPING CHILDREN IN THE MOST DEPRAVED WAYS

Royal Navy veteran Mark Vincent, 57, who served 23 years in the forces including active war zones, has been jailed for 25 years after a jury at Truro Crown Court convicted him of 23 counts of historic child rape and sexual abuse against two young girls in Cornwall decades ago.

His Honour Judge Simon Carr branded it “as bad a case as you could be,” describing the grooming and abuse as “systematic, prolonged and in some cases positively depraved.”

Shocking details included Vincent placing chocolate buttons under his foreskin to entice one terrified girl into performing oral sex on him.

He also raped one of the victims with a vibrator while subjecting both girls to years of repeated sexual exploitation.

One victim told the court the abuse changed her entire personality, led to a teenage suicide attempt and left her an over-protective mother with no sense of what “normal” was.

The second victim said she has no fond childhood memories, suffers PTSD, stress-induced seizures and found reliving the ordeal in court “traumatic, stressful and distressing.”

Vincent will serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before parole eligibility and remains on the sex offenders register for life.
