At 73 and with the world in turmoil, I have had to look deep into myself.. what do I want?
My compass for the kind of country I want my grandchildren to inherit:
Family. Friendship. Fairness. Belonging.
Guided by kindness, responsibility, duty, and good Christian values.
🚨 BREAKING: Times journalist might not be quite as impartial as he claims.
Today’s SHOCKING revelations…
…Nigel Farage has a wealthy friend who let him stay at his house and helped him out with some expenses.
Before that, the SHOCKING revelation was that Richard Tice had paid the full tax he owed…
… but due to complex technicalities, accidentally paid it as personal tax instead of via a trust.
Well, it turns out the journalist desperately trying to make all of this look sinister…
…has been publicly saying he “despises” Nigel Farage for at least 10 years.
Funny how that never gets mentioned.
Also funny how I can’t find any articles from him about the Government FAILING audit for the third year running…
…or the National Audit Office finding that up to £81 billion of public money is lost EVERY year through fraud and error.
Personally, I’d say auditors being unable to account for tens of billions of pounds of taxpayers’ money…
…is a slightly bigger story than which mate let Nigel stay at his house.
They really are scraping the barrel.
I travel a lot. If I meet you and you come from Makerfield, you know what my first question will be dont you? And if its the wrong answer, that's it. Finished.
I recall examples in my working life where the unsupported incumbent was left in post during a leader take-over period. The new boss was always lurking in the background talking change management.
I even recall a loser leaving booby traps in systems.
It rarely if ever works.
@InspGadgetBlogs But the difference then is that Reform become the official opposition and things change. Also good learning /preparing time for taking power in say 2031.
Although I strongly disagree with socialist politics, I hope Burnham recognises that the first duty of govt is to its citizens, that immigration laws should be enforced, and that those who contribute positively to this country should never come second to those who break its laws.
In our parliamentary system, 24,927 voters in one constituency have effectively changed the Prime Minister. That's about 0.05% of the UK electorate.
An interesting definition of democracy.
My daughter works in a hospice giving care to people nearing end of life.. and yet they don't have air conditioning.
All hospitals in this country should have air conditioning.
There was a time when I feared our country was sleepwalking into oblivion.
Now I know we're marching there instead — heads held high, votes cast, proudly embracing managed decline... and straight over the very same cliff.
My take on Makerfield.
The left seamlessly, almost invisibly coalesce to prevent the right from winning. Almost professional.
The right noisily, egotistically and obviously refuse to coalesce and join.. and lose. Almost suicidal.
Until that changes there is little hope.
Honestly. If you believe that Russia had anything to do with the attacks on Starmer.... wrong address.... by Ukraines.... failed.... then you seriously are part of the problem.
As someone on the right who wants this country to recover, after Makerfield I’ll never vote Restore — not now, not ever.
Even if they became the main opposition, I still wouldn’t go near them. I’d sooner vote Labour — absurd, but that’s where they’ve driven me.
@Keir_Starmer And if you annoy him and he sends a small force like William the Conqueror, you can repel him?
He could send a scout troop at the moment and destroy your Defence Report.
Restore Voters in Makerfield will be adrenalised nay drunk on the thought they can blood Farage's nose in favour of their demi god Lowe.
And then they wake up the next day realising they actually voted for Burnham and the further destruction of our country.
Some hangover....
@DPJHodges They can have 5,000 there but it doesn't necessarly affect the vote. Thats down to the people of Makerfield. Only so many are ego or protest morons. The majority will vote for a proper party be it Labour, Cons or Reform.
