Would you like get out in the countryside this spring and volunteer to help us to reduce flood risk? You can help to create a system of ponds, swales and reed beds at Trecastle Wood.
The scheme will save rainfall to be used, and infiltrate excess water to reduce flood risks downstream. Help us reuse old bath tubs to make a series of water filtering reed beds!
We are offering morning and afternoon volunteer sessions from 7 to 10 April
I've recently started making my own #oatmilk. It's really easy. All you need is oats, a blender, sieve/colander and a muslin or similar. Then just soak, blend, strain and enjoy!
I used the BBC Good Food recipe: https://t.co/Y0vGEtLU0o
I was very pleased with the results.
I've often wondered why oat milk is typically more expensive than cows milk when surely the production costs are lower. The recipe above will only cost you around 14p to make 750ml (19p per litre) based on Waitrose Essentials porridge oats are 14p/100g.

Bagged salad is one of the most wasted foods in Britain, with over half of it ending up in landfill. We like to use variations on Jack Monroe's Salad-Bag Pesto to make use of free food that would otherwise be wasted.
@DeathlyDog Yes, being careful it is important as pre prepared salad bags do go off faster than uncut produce. Washing is important to reduce E.coli risk too.
I've been out collecting hawthorn and alder seeds to have a go at propagating. TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) have great resources on collecting and growing UK native trees https://t.co/pCUEwnR7tT
