@featherandbone Yeah I love that they, like Celtic Frost’s connection/admiration with Giger* was so mutual. * H.R. wasn’t asked to do “Cold Lake” or “Vanity/Nemesis” but that might’ve been weird albeit interesting.
@d00mfr0gg My uncle told me that when I got super into "Melissa" at age 14. He said: "hey, I thought you into Motley Crue". ME: Not so much now UNCLE: They spelled 'merciful' wrong. ME: Huh...?!? *looks at the tape's weird-ass image of King Diamond and mysterious picture frame*
Ist heard Destruction age 15 in the parking lot of 7-11 - my friends Kenny & Aron pulled up in their '68 Camaro & started blasting "Bestial Invasion" I wasn't sure what to make of it then even though it was fairly technical & ofc thrashy af but I was "too much" for me then.
I love how even the slight chord changes and positioning that Destruction used made for such a perfect sound. And that 1 chord resonation into drum section / vocals only at the "rush...over"/chorus part is so fantastic! https://t.co/R7N3aOWnI0
A TON of black/thrash bands use this and often very well like Germany's Nocturnal as you'll notice here a thrash riff with extra notes unlike say what Exodus or Testament would generally do. And damn Tyrannizer was an awesome vocalist. https://t.co/W8So68XKpS
