Once I started thinking about it, I realized it took more faith for me to believe the universe materialized out of nothing and that it was like a 1 in a quintillion chance that we randomly appeared alive on earth than it did for me to believe some creator made everything. That started my journey from athiesm to christianity.

It is enormous. The statue itself will be precisely 33 meters tall, honoring the 33 years of Christ's earthly life.
Including the pedestal, it will reach 77 meters (250 feet). Double the height of Christ the Redeemer!
@sola_chad I'm exmormon. The just the first paragraphs of John's gospel, not to mention the entire thing, and Matthew 22:30 dispeled their claims of Jesus's lack of divinity as well as their core marital tenant for me pretty quick.
@LukeFHan I'm exmormon, ex-athiest and I strongly disagree. Ive been reading through the New Testament and there's many areas that have me fully convinced the god I worshipped as a mormon is not the God I worship now. Particularly the entire gospel of John, heck, even just chapter 1!
We can't judge by our own wisdom, yes, but we can preach what the one who can judge says. Christ does welcome all... to repentance. He told the adulterous woman to go and sin no more, not continue in adultery. He says this to numerous sinners who He welcomes to him. "Unnatural desires" and sexual immorality are condemned numerous times throughout the bible. Christ preaches repentance and so we preach what He has declared. We warn, He judges. A church is for worshipping God alone, nothing else and especially not sexual immorality of any sort. Also, one who truly loves you lets you know when you are doing wrong.
“This is why Christianity is different from any other religion in the world … All other religions are you trying to get closer to God, Christianity is God who came to you.”
