🔥 HELL YEAH! A pilot just used his airplane to draw a USA 250th banner using his flight path
It took him over FIVE HOURS of flying time to do this.
What a PATRIOT! 🇺🇸
Today's Dodgers lineup
Shohei Ohtani, DH
Kyle Tucker, RF
Mookie Betts, SS
Freddie Freeman, 1B
Will Smith, C
Max Muncy, 3B
Teoscar Hernandez, LF
Andy Pages, CF
Miguel Rojas, 2B
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, P
With all of the vitriol directed towards the Dodgers, remember:
The Red Sox chose not to sign Mookie Betts and traded him to LA.
Atlanta walked away from Freddie Freeman.
The Angels declined to match Shohei Ohtani's offer.
The Astros and Cubs didn't want to keep Kyle Tucker.
I’m not going to individually reply to all the angry tweeters in my mentions, but I’ll say it here: Yes, the Dodgers have more money than most teams. But if every other team was spending what they CAN afford, there wouldn’t be so many elite players available for the Dodgers to sign.
For example, the Red Sox, Braves, and Angels could have prevented the Dodgers from getting Betts, Freeman, and Ohtani, but they chose not to pay them. Maybe not many other teams can afford ALL of these players, but the other 29 teams collectively certainly can.
And if those teams had kept their stars when they had the chance, the Dodgers wouldn’t have their other current advantage, which is that free agents want to go there because they see them as the team trying hardest to win.
So even if we accept the demonstrably false premise that highest payroll guarantees a World Series victory, anyone blaming the Dodgers while ignoring the ways most other owners have helped create the situation is being willfully ignorant.
My problem with baseball is:
The BS offers the Tigers give Skubal.
The Astros didn't re-sign four star players that came up through the farm system.
The Mariners repeatedly not spending money while having a young core and turning a profit.
The fucking Boston Red Sox salary-dumping Mookie Betts.
The most money the Pirates have spent on a free agent for multi-year free agent is Ryan O’hearn. (2 years, 29 million)
The A's moving from Oakland and trading away Matt Chapman , Matt Olson, Sean Murphy, etc.
Could go on and on.
The problem with baseball is the owners.
Not the Dodgers.
I just need to keep reminding myself that I don’t hate the Dodgers. I hate all the other owners for normalizing an unwillingness to commit to winning on the same level as the Dodgers have.
