Starting from the top, 9x10 would equal 90. But 8x10 doesn’t equal 72. So I decrease the multiplication number by one so it would be 8x9 which would then equal 72. Did the same all the way down. 7x8, 6x7.

So 3 would be 3x4 which would equal 12.
