The Tele-present Wind is a kinetic installation by artist David Bowen. It operates in real time by mimicking environmental data. There are two main versions:
Earth version: An outdoor accelerometer connected to a physical plant stalk detects real-time wind speeds and directions from a remote location (often halfway around the world) and translates this motion into the gallery.
Mars version: The stalks sway, tilt, and move in unison based on live atmospheric data and wind sensors collected by the Perseverance Rover on Mars.
By bridging physical galleries with remote data, the project turns abstract, distant environmental conditions into a tangible, immersive, and often surreal field of swaying grass.
The "Fungus Furniture" series is a collection of whimsical, mushroom-inspired seating concepts designed by the creator Paul Octavious. These viral and organic designs, including large poufs resembling giant fungi and cap shaped armchairs, have captured widespread attention in the design community for their playful, nature-forward aesthetics.
@TodayinHistory If you laid out all the galleries, corridors, and rooms in one straight line, itโd stretch about 7 to 9 miles. And they say if you spent just one minute on each painting, itโd take you roughly 4 years to see them all
