Thanks Mel Reay: Staff drew a b & w postcard, Y7 students were asked to colour for h/w. Art now have a set of personal postcards to go home. During the year, each child will have their card sent home. They,ve been told it's secret h/w for a lovely surprise when it arrives home.
Update from Julie Walton on the Dotty Marking: It worked really
well. Students worked together to work out what the colours meant and then did
the necessary improvements- I chatted to a few and they really liked it. Just
sat working through my other 3 sets of Year 9 now!
Thanks to Julie Walton for sharing. Julie said:

Thanks Collette Tuer for sharing the Desert Island lesson. Collette said:
"Here my students are writing a description of a desert island using the 5 senses and descriptive techniques. Reward was making their island. We also had a desert island image and sounds on the board.”
Thanks for sharing Carrie Ann! Looks like you challenged a few.

Please find some images of YR8/9 totally engaged in finding their way around the periodic table last week. No verbal instructions were given, they picked their own groups or worked alone.
