BREAKING
A major financial package to support pubs which are facing closure due to spiraling business rates will be announced by HM Treasury in coming days.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves is expected to announce short term support for pubs hit by huge increases in business rates from April 1, ahead of a complete shake-up of pubs' business rates to bring them down permanently from 2029.
Pubs are also likely to be allowed to be open for longer, as well as utilise outside space to increase their attractiveness to customers.
There could also be a default right for pubs to stay open if neighbours complain about the noise. More now on @GBNEWS.
