Another example of poor planning…beautiful, large catch basin in new construction, built on south side of road without proper drainage on north side of roadway @CountyofLA@CityofGlendora! We need to do better! #BetterTogether#development
Pls rethink the deletion of the #2 lane of Foothill adjacent to GHS, @CityofGlendora. The only accomplishment is a dedicated, double-parking, car/ped dodging, liability nightmare! Our Traffic Engineer receives an “F” on this assignment! #Glendora#TrafficSafety
Becoming a Law Enforcement Explorer provides youth not only exposure to a great career but possible pathways, guidance, and relationships to make it happen for them. I’m proud and thankful to have been one!
#LASD Explorer ride-alongs provide young participants with hands-on experience in police work while reinforcing professionalism, safety, and department policies.

Breaking:Fox News reporting a “military helicopter” collided with a regional commuter jet on approach to Reagan National Airport. Search and rescue efforts underway along the Potomac River. Up to 60 passengers onboard.
#OnThisDay in 1945, Soviet soldiers liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp. It is now a symbol of what can happen when hatred is left unchecked.
Today, we commemorate #HolocaustMemorialDay on the 80th anniversary of the liberation.

As we continue to recover from the devastation of these wildfires, our Department will continue to support the communities affected.
We would like to encourage you to take advantage of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department free Home Check provided by @ALDLASD.
This free service involves a Sheriff’s Deputy or trained Volunteer on Patrol checking on your property. As part of the courtesy property inspection, the uniformed Sheriff’s representative checks for any unlocked windows or doors, evidence of possible forced entry, and any other suspicious activity on your property.
Send an email to [email protected] with your name, address, and a good call back number.
If you would like to find out more information about the home check service within your area, please contact your local sheriff station to inquire about their process.

Now that our ground operations have finished we can begin to process what has occurred. Two of the most devastating fires in California history happened at the same time. Within hours we went from doing CPR on someone in Malibu to pulling people out of homes in Altadena. After the flames were out we set about systematically and methodically clearing thousands of properties. We were able to bring closure to dozens of families. We are in the reunion business, whatever that might look like.
After 30 years of doing search & rescue, I have never witnessed so much cooperation between agencies. Under the leadership of LA Sheriff Lt. Chris Landavavazo with the Incident Management Team at the Rose Bowl, we accomplished the impossible, clearing thousands of properties in only 5 days. Then he took us to the Palisades where we finished up that area in two days.
Special thanks to our SAR brothers and sisters from the Orange County Sheriff’s, Ventura S/O and San Diego Sheriff’s. San Diego had people camped out on the ground at the Rose Bowl and later on the beach at Zuma. Amazing level of commitment.
Anyone reading this who was there, your agency has mental health resources available to you should you need help processing what we did. Talk to someone, check on your teammates.
As we pray for all the families affected, this verse seems appropriate:
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
