So long as there's a begining, middle and end. a plot that gets the audience thinking and we have an idea of what these characters are like. Then the story should be golden.

That's why I love Poe so much, I want to tell Poe's story as someone who believes no one loves. There are moments Poe feels happy but there's that dark void in Poe's heart that's missing. That void being "Love" that gets to be earned by the end of it. (Wholesome ending)

So in Academic Critters Ep05 The sun behind the storm. It originally was going to open with Dogday losing his frisbee to then get jumped by Poe. (But a ball might be easier to animate)

The $5 joke was going to be for a greedy character leading to a funny situation.
