French industrial designer Philippe Starck introduced a beautiful and meaningful concept for the gold medals consisting of four components that Olympic honorees will be able to split and present three sections to family members, trainers, and supporters. How lovely is this?
Here at Trophyology, we primarily utilize brass to represent gold, nickel or aluminum to represent silver, and copper to represent bronze in our recognition awards and plaques. We love how these metals pair and enhance the natural beauty of wood.
Precious metals have played an essential role in human society for centuries. These valuable metals, including gold, silver, and bronze, have been used for a variety of purposes, ranging from currency and jewelry to art and recognition.

COLLABORATION WITH OPEN ARMS STUDIO
We support our local social enterprises by having our felt sleeves sewn by a team of refugee employees at Open Arms Studio, a made in the USA cut-and-sew production studio based in Austin, Texas.
FELT FROM RECYCLED PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES
Our felt sleeves are created from a light gray colored felt material that is made in the USA from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles.
Since our founding in 2011, we have set out to build a business that acts as a good steward of our world. We evaluate small and large decisions with that question in mind: does this decision contribute to us being good stewards of our environment and resources?
Today, we are pleased to share details with you about how those felt sleeves contribute to our stewardship initiatives.

Scientists at the University of British Columbia conducted a study about the influence of color and found that shades of blue have a calming effect. Through familiarity with the sky, water, and ocean, most people associate blue with openness, peace, and tranquility.
Across the world, blue is a recognizable feature in varying styles of architecture. Brilliant shades of blue can be found in residences and institutions alike. Stunning signature blue accents are seen across Greece as well as temples and mosques in Arabic regions.
Style is a way to communicate without speaking. Blue shades of cloth have been treasured and traded for millennia along the silk road. Blue is associated with confidence, authority, reliability, and loyalty.
Blue has had a long and powerful history in art and design, from Van Gogh, to Matisse, to Josef Albers and the Bauhaus. Yves Klein, is quoted as saying, "Blue is the invisible becoming visible. Blue has no dimensions, it is beyond the dimensions of which other colours partake."
Artist James Turrell works with perceptions of light and space and we are fortunate to have one of his exquisite Skyspaces in our hometown, Austin, Texas. Located at the University of Texas campus.
Did you know that blue is the most popular color in the world? While the rarest color to occur in nature, it is favored by more than 35% of the world’s population.
As you recognize the many amazing people in your life, don't forget to take a moment and appreciate yourself: how much you have grown, how far you have come, how you accomplished what you set out to do. How are you marking these personal milestones?
"The Trophyology Team has been great to work with in redesigning our sales awards program. We now honor our top performers with beautiful, distinguished trophies that they are proud to display in their homes."
