We are deeply saddened by the death of a civilian and the loss of an @SPVM officer who was killed in the line of duty today, protecting others. On behalf of the Toronto Police Service, I extend heartfelt condolences to their families and to our policing colleagues. We also have those injured, including another police officer, in our thoughts today.

Today, as we accompanied Constable Marc Pinizzotto to the Office of the Chief Coroner, we were deeply moved by the many first responders, public safety partners and community members who stood along the route with our members in silent tribute.

On behalf of the Toronto Police Service, I want to thank every police officer, firefighter, paramedic, as well as the many members of the community who took the time to line roadways and bridges to honour Marc’s life and service.

We will never forget the support and respect shown today, nor the sacrifice Marc made in service to others.

This is extremely trivial but that's what we're here for. You cannot reload while looking at any of Train's brake units (and significantly above and below them as well). Once the brake unit is destroyed this inability to reload is fixed.

Our thoughts are with the injured @DRPS officer who is in hospital after being shot while responding to a call, as well as with their family and colleagues. Officers face dangerous situations every day while serving their communities. At these moments we are always united as a policing family in support of the injured officer and all those impacted.
