I still can’t believe it’s been 25 years since the millennium! On December 31, 1999, amidst Y2K anxiety, BBC Radio 1 and some incredible promoters had an idea for a celebration no one would forget.

The night started at Bondi Beach in Sydney, where I welcomed the year 2000 with an unforgettable vinyl set & an incredible crowd. I then flew back in time (on an older plane put on just for that trip by Qantas, so if the electronics failed as was a concern with Y2K, the pilots could fly it manually), crossing the International Date Line to play another set in Honolulu. It was absolutely surreal to celebrate the millennium twice.

To this day, that night remains one of the most memorable moments of my career.
