WHAT AN IMPOSSIBLE ENGINEERING!
As Saudi Arabia announces the successful completion of the 2026 Hajj season, with more than 1.7 million pilgrims performing the sacred pilgrimage, it is worth appreciating the remarkable planning, logistics, and engineering that make this spiritual gathering possible year after year.
In this video, my good friend @sai7org takes us on a fascinating tour, explaining some of the incredible infrastructure behind Hajj operations. Particularly interesting is how the enormous amount of water used across the Mashaer, that is, in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, is transported from desalination plants connected to the sea and distributed efficiently to serve millions of pilgrims, despite the challenging desert environment.
From water systems and transportation networks to crowd management and public services, the Hajj remains one of the greatest logistical operations on earth and an example of what human ingenuity can achieve in the service of faith.
