I will give you five examples of criminals on bail who commit more grievous crimes.

Why give bail to criminals?
1. Telangana- P. Rajkumar a farmer from Daivalaguda village in Shahbad mandalwas booked under Sections 11 and 12 of the Pocso Act on May 16, 2026 after the girl and her family lodged a complaint accusing him of stalking and sexually harassing her.

Once he received bail, Rajkumar first went to the girl’s house in Shabad town, where he allegedly murdered her mother and grandmother while they were asleep.

He then allegedly abducted the girl in a car and drove her to his native village of Daivalaguda, where he allegedly slit her throat near Akhil Sagar Lake. Rajkumar subsequently went to his house, about 250 metres from the lake, and killed his wife and his two sons, who were all asleep. He used a sickle and a knife to stab the victims and slit their throats(Hindustan Times).

2. Uttam Nagar, Delhi- On the day of Holi Tarun Butolia was lynched to death. Umardeen, Jummadeen, Kamruddin, Mustaque, Muzaffar, Tahir and Imran alias Bunty were arrested.

On the night of 28 September 2026, Tarun’s uncle Tek Chand, a witness, alleged that Golu — the brother of an accused already released by the court — and another man surrounded him near home, slapped him and told him not to testify and to withdraw the case.

3. Jharsuguda/Rourkela, Odisha, December 2024: Kunu Kisan, accused of raping a girl in Aug 2023 who was then a minor, was given interim bail. While on bail he murdered her, dismembered her and dumped body parts in the Brahmani river. (The New Indian Express)

4. London- Simon Levy was a sexual sadist. Levy, a serial sex offender from Tottenham, was on police and court bail over sexual assaults and was under investigation for the murder of one woman when he killed another and raped a third.

He was also convicted of attacking further women while on bail. At the Old Bailey in August 2026 he received a whole-life order.

5. Portland, Oregon, 2022. Mohamed Osman Adan had been arrested after Rachael Angel Abraham, the mother of his children, reported that he punched, strangled and threatened to kill her.

He was released on bail 22 August 2022. Five days later he cut off his GPS monitor, returned to their apartment and killed Rachael.

Prosecutors said three children were present and that she was stabbed in the face and strangled.

Darbhanga- The death of a married Hindu woman under suspicious circumstances in Apr 2026 has come to light at Samrat Chowk in the Kusheshwarsthan Nagar Panchayat area of ​​Darbhanga.

The girl’s father, Amarjit Paswan, alleged that on January 13, 2026, Mohammad Ujala—son of Mohammad Sabir, a resident of Samrat Chowk—had lured his minor daughter away. He stated that a formal complaint had been lodged with the Kusheshwarsthan police station regarding this matter, but no action was taken by the police.

Mohammad Ujala married the girl despite she being a minor. She was killed after refusing to convert her religion. Her father stated that had the police taken timely action, his daughter would still be alive today.

Meanwhile, her aunt said that they had been repeatedly asking for the girl to be returned, but the accused kept stalling with excuses until he eventually killed her.
