2) Yes, that's true. No one has denied that.
3) He was not quoting the Bible. He was extrapolating something out of the Bible without having enough evidence as to how exactly it was measured.

To properly give the value you did, you must know 1) The thickness of the edge 2) Know whether the two measurements included or excluded the edge 3) Know that measurements were made with exact to the mm precision.
