A jury convicted Karmelo Anthony of murder for stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf to death. Evidence was presented. Witnesses testified. Self-defense was rejected. He got 35 years.
That’s not a “legal lynching.” That’s justice.

Crying racism because the killer is Black and the victim was White doesn’t change the facts: actions have consequences.
Austin is dead. His family grieves. The system worked.

Stop excusing violence.

Idris Elba is right. James Bond is canonically a white British man, the son of a Scottish father and a Swiss mother.

No one has a problem with creating an original film about a black secret agent, but race swapping James Bond to be black is unnecessary and no one wants that.

James Bond is a white British man who travels to exotic locations in foreign countries where he sleeps with all the most beautiful women and breaks the law with complete impunity because he has a license to kill from the British government which supersedes all foreign laws.

He unapologetically protects the interests of Britain against communists and third-worldists with grievances against the West. He is a reactionary figure created in a reactionary era. That is what the fans of these movies like about them.

And, for that reason, creatives with values opposite those Bond have historically represented want to take control of this franchise and transform it into something diametrically opposite to what it used to be.

They hate Bond and they hate Bond fans, so they want to make this franchise theirs. They want to take this suave avatar of the colonizer and colonize him, to turn the white man who fights the communists into a black or brown man who fights for migrant communities.

If they’re allowed to do this, it will destroy the most valuable property Amazon acquired in its $8.5 billion purchase of MGM, because this, like every previous woke transformation of a previously bankable property, will alienate existing fans and fail to attract new ones.

People in LA who voted for Pratt are feeling what 2020 felt like to Trump supporters.
Almost all of these voters called MAGA crazy, because at the time it fit their narrative. Then they experienced what Democratic policies do to a city.

They came out in droves, they voted for their candidate. They were winning big on election night and then viola someone w no real support suddenly came out of nowhere and claimed a top spot.

Maybe now some will wake up.

Ethiopia was never colonized.

For much of its history, it was one of the poorest countries on the continent.

Meanwhile, Vietnam was colonized by the French, devastated by decades of war, and is now on its way to serious economic prosperity.

If colonialism were the answer to why Africa is poor, Ethiopia should be rich and Vietnam should be broke. Neither is true.

Can we please retire this excuse?
