@Oliver_G_Cowan@MessianicAge10@shekenahglory I think the Eve of the Last Adam is better described as the bride of Christ.
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
β Revelation 21:2
@parousia70@needGod_net@Oliver_G_Cowan@MessianicAge10 "The fact that youβre asking for a step by step interpretive method is itself a very post Reformation way of approaching Scripture."
This confused me. Does the EO church not have scholars? Don't they approach the text using an interpretive method?
@elimcgowan It seems some Presbyterians need to make up their minds about whether they think Presbyterian ecclesiastical polity is correct or not. Will they submit or no?
Some end up leaving and some others stay and act in defiance. π€
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net Maybe an example as you suggested might be helpful. Take this passage:
A generation goes and a generation comes,
But the earth stands forever.
β Ecclesiastes 1:4
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net@Oliver_G_Cowan@MessianicAge10 I wasn't asking you because you have stated you aren't looking to answer any further.
"I examine whether it is consistent with the faith that has been received and preserved in the Church."
For example, the faith that you received from other priests? How can one verify them?
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net@Oliver_G_Cowan@MessianicAge10
Do either of you know how someone within an EO framework arrives at the correct interpretation of Scripture? Like how do I make sure a priest is correct in what he is saying about Ecc. 1:4 for example?
Or do you know someone with an answer?
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net For example, it seems some people are able to be corrected on what is Orthodox. I'm assuming that it is supposed to align with the correct interpretation of Scripture.
If someone corrects me on say Ecc. 1:4, how do I know they have the right view?

To Any and All Eastern Orthodox Clergy on here:
If you ever see me post, say, or present something that is in fact not Orthodox. Please correct me, in public, in private, etc., should you feel it's necessary and you feel pulled to do so.
P.s. Thank you for everything that you do.
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net Sure, if you are referring to a man-made institution, then my answer is "no."
Now I gave an example verse that might help me understand how you are to approach interpretation, it was something you had suggested earlier.
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net You asked the question. Please provide the referent and I can give my answer.
I don't think you have + see the follow-up below it.
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net Where in these do we find the correct interpretation of that verse:
"preaching, worship, sacraments, catechesis, bishops, councils, prayers, and the reading of Scripture etc."
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net Maybe an example as you suggested might be helpful. Take this passage:
A generation goes and a generation comes,
But the earth stands forever.
β Ecclesiastes 1:4
@RonaldsRDonalds@parousia70@needGod_net I'm still not sure where someone in the church can find the rule of faith that would interpret a passage.
How do they go about doing that? Is there a written document or a group of people that can fully explain all proper interpretation of any given passage??
