Semitic semantic range matters. Neither Hebrew or Aramaic have a distinct word for cousin. Brother is the word used to refer to male relatives in these languages. Look at Semitic translations of the OT into Greek they use adelphos for cousin. You’re missing the cultural context

Here’s what the Bible actually says:

“Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?”” Mark 6:3

Adelphos: brothers
Adelphai: sisters

Interestingly, anepsios is the word that would have been used for “cousins” and syngenes for “kinsman.” If the writer meant to use those words, that is what he would have said. He didn’t. He called them His brothers and sisters.
