So many people missed this from the $TSLA earnings call. Elon didn't mention 1 million reservations, he mentioned over 1 million PEOPLE having reservations.
This is likely emphasized since it's well-known that many of us have several reservations.
@inTheMtnWood Dealerships are having to drop prices to get rid of inventory. Which will result in lower demand/prices from the OEMs. Only problem is, they don't have the margins to support this like Tesla does.
Key theme of Tesla's earnings call:
Tesla will not run full steam ahead into uncertainty.
It doesn't mean no growth, it means more financially prudent growth and investment.
Expect continued emphasis on cost reduction, R&D, and unfortunately, slower ramps

Most legacy OEMs are pushing out/cancelling EV investment, and their "sales" are to dealerships, so there is a lag in real world impact.
