A number of people have raised questions or concerns to us about whether assets in our marketing and game use generative AI.
We have a dedicated team of over a dozen talented and experienced artists. With them, we looked into the assets in question and found that there were indeed some early versions of assets that made their way into the the prologue. This includes some in-game portraits and external marketing assets.
We are actively reviewing the assets in question. Human made versions will be released in an update dropping soon.
We own up to this oversight and apologize for any upset caused. Please be assured that the Early Access and full game will not include any assets generated by AI.
Many people would complain seeing this long scene of nothing and would remark it being pointless.
But it isn't pointless. Getting you into the right mood before getting into things is important. Some weird blonde guy in a Hawaiian shirt told me that.
I had never seen Ghost in the Shell until a few months ago. I assumed it would be underwhelming. It's a 90's anime and even if good —probably been done to death, right?
I was wrong, and this clip nestled in the middle demonstrates the unbelievable artistry of the film.
I'm so disappointed in the difference between the Japanese Nintendo Direct and the English one.
They left out most of the JRPGs from the English version. Like what the heck. This trend is scary, because it means that Japan thinks that JRPGs do not sell well in English speaking countries. And it may disencourage small JRPG producers from localizing their games. 😔
I think I fell asleep very early at 7pm. It's almost 3am now. It's been awhile since I slept before midnight that it felt like I've wasted time and slacking off comms.
Any AI assets are used only as placeholders that are being replaced with manually created materials, says the Crazy Taxi: World Tour lead, Kenji Kanno, to Kotaku.
“We used it as a reference, so our artists would pull up [and] generate some of their ideas, and then they would look at that, you know, generated image, and then they would draw the actual thing. So actual creators, everything from programming to assets, everything is made by an actual human. It’s only used as a reference for them to look at, and then they would actually create the actual thing that would go into the game.”
SEGA is far from the first company to use AI for such purposes. While such publishers often face initial criticism, it seems that the tool is becoming the industry’s norm.

The 3v3 anime girl gun game has a combination of advanced movement and wallrunning with hero style abilities
@kikoyochanVt Real anime characters are designed with animation in mind, that's why things are simplified so it's easier to draw. But that's not a concern for Vtubers, so they could jam as many details as they want.
Having rewatched Mushoku Tensei, I'm starting to see the controversy it got to be out of proportion.
I think this is a case of people being sensitive and not valuing unsanitized fiction.
Sanitized anime is weak and cowardly.
